Other People's People - an invitation

“We gather these remembrances—the people we come from, the hands that held us, the places that shaped us—because understanding our own roots often begins with honoring yours.”

The Quiet Holler

🌾 Other People’s People — A Gathering of Family Stories

I’m starting a new project at The Quiet Holler called Other People’s People, and I’d love to include your stories.

If you have a memory, an old family tale, an ancestor worth remembering, a childhood moment tied to “the old home place,” or even a single photograph that tells a story — I would be honored to share it.

I’m looking for short stories or reflections (a few paragraphs is plenty), along with one or two photos if you have them. These can be about anyone who shaped you: grandparents, great-aunts, farm people, mill people, church people, storytellers, quiet heroes — the folks whose lives still echo in your own.

A few things so it’s clear and respectful for everyone:

  • You retain full rights to your story and photos, and I’ll always list you as the author.

  • I will only post with your permission.

  • I may lightly edit for clarity, flow, or space — but always with care for your voice.

  • You’ll get to approve the final version before anything is published.

If you’d like to contribute, just message me or email me your story. I would truly love to gather these remembrances — the people we come from, the hands that held us, the places that made us who we are.

Please send it to thequietholler@gmail.com.
